Hi…my name is Luna…and I want to tell you about my life just a little bit. I don’t think you should turn the page now because you think it’s going to be boring. I am anything but boring, I promise you that. I am “Angel Kitty Luna Skye”. I am a Chemo-angel Kitty cat. I am an all white domestic mix of short/medium hair. I have had 2 kittens and I got them and me out of a hoarders house to save us. It wasn’t their fault, but the doggies were eating my furriends. They were hungry and their instinct made them kill us to eat. There were 28 other kitty’s or so …and about 10-12 dogs. I got out one day and hid in a neighbors backyard deck. I had my kittens and nursed them and then someone found me /us. At first I was very worried because I was taken back to the human hoarders house, because the neighbors found us under their deck and took us back where they thought I lived. But as soon as they saw some of the conditions, they called the Huron Valley Humane Society in Ann Arbor, MI. This was in or about July 2011.
Soon, a bunch of people came and took my other furriends and me to a place where they took care of us and fed us and we got cuddles. Then, because I was nursing and sick and underweight (only less than 5 lbs and one year old); I got to go to a foster home. I stayed there for 6 months and then I was adopted by my mommy and daddy. I’ve lived with my mommy and daddy now for 15 months and I am having a great life now! If you read some of my other blog posts, you can see my daily diary and find out the fun I have every day now and the love I give and receive.
So my mommy has been a Chemo-angel since 2006 or so. It is a non profit org. online which was started by one woman and has become something very wonderful. You see, it doesn’t matter what age that someone gets that scarey diagnosis of “Cancer”; it’s scarey regardless. My mommy’s mommy passed away of colon cancer in 2002 and she has had several aunts and Uncles pass away also from different cancers. So mommy found out about the Chemo-angels and she filled out the forms and became one. She got her first “buddy” and it went from there. Mommy is still friends with most of her ex-chemo-angel buddies. She’s had many because she is also a special assignment “angel” and a Prayer “angel” for the program.
When I came along, it took me about a year to become the more comfortable, affectionate kitty cat that I am today. I was very scared and skiddish and didn’t like much attention. I was kind of a loner but still liked to know that someone was home with me. So a while back, mommy got her first child chemo-angel buddy. It is a little girl and she is only 3 years old. She has 2 sisters and one is older and one is younger. She has a mommy and a daddy and everyone loves her and we are all fighting for her!! So mommy thought to herself …”what could I say or do with a child that would make or could make this any easier or better….even if only a little bit?”
That’s where I come in!! Mommy asked me to be this little girls Chemo-angel and now I am “Angel Kitty Luna Skye” and I have my own facebook page and my own pet celebrity facebook page! You can find me on facebook under the pages at “Angel Kitty Luna Skye”. I put up pictures and lots of people come and look and they “like” my page. Sometimes I make new facebook friends and furrriends!! Now, since the little girl is only 3, I have to be inventive and I send her fun little gifts and toys to cheer her up and make her smile. You send uplifting cards, smaller gifts, toys and stuff to keep them happy, or busy in the hospital during chemo therapy treatments etc. I send things like : bookmarks, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, jump ropes, sun glasses, pj’s, coloring books and pages and markers, crayons, jewelry and other fun things that mommy comes up with for me to send to her. She loves getting pictures of me and seeing my video’s now on facebook. Her mommy can show her my pictures and videos easily now because she found my mommy on there and they are friends and so am I now.
I love being a “celebrity” pet and having my story told and my photo’s out there in the world. I was “cat denmaster” for the month of December on Catster magazines group. I was also the “diary of the day” last year about the same time, at Easter. There’s a nice cat there on Catster, who makes cool pictures of me and the other kitties, in cool looking frames and he puts my photo in there and sends it to mommy. She loves it and now she is trying to make some of those photos too. I think it would be much more fun, if I was a little child, to get mail from a Kitty than a 52 year old mommy and grandma! MOL….MOL…..(*that is “Meow out loud”)…Im the best kitty in the world and I’m just so cute and precious. I am very persnic- KITTY!! I stand and look out the window like one of those little “cabbage patch kid that you see at the art shows. The ones that stand like they are looking out of a window. Have you seen those before?? They are like backwards and looking out a window but it looks like I’m a real baby or toddler..MOL
